The Pottery Lounge is a local, family owned and operated, contemporary Paint Your Own Pottery studio. We are located in Forest Plaza at 6059 E State Street in Rockford, IL.
We have ceramic pottery (bisque), canvas, and wood art available for painting. We provide the supplies and do all the cleanup!
Some art supplies are also available for purchase in store or by request.
The price is marked on each piece, and is all inclusive for our Glaze & Fire. If you prefer acrylic, our Paint & Take acrylic is also all included in the listed price. Have your own paint, and just want the ceramic? Take 40% off!
No appointment needed!
You may make a party or event reservation if you have a large group and want to ensure space available.
All ages! We have pieces small and large, simple and detailed.
There's something for every age and every level of painter. We have had infants all the way up to our current oldest customer at 100 years old!
The only difference between a beginner and a master is practice, so come practice with us!
We can provide table cloths, balloons, centerpieces, and added staffing for set up and clean up.
There is a non-refundable $35 reservation fee per party, which guarantees the space and added staffing. This fee does not apply toward the chosen pieces your party wants to paint.
Yes, most events require advanced tickets. This helps us to plan accordingly for events.
Check out our Events page for upcoming events and tickets.
Paint & Take acrylic pieces can be taken home the same day.
Glaze & Fire pieces will be ready for pickup within 7-10 business days. These pieces must be dried for a day, then dipped in a clear glaze and dried for another day. Then, they spend one to two days in the kiln. Once the kiln is completely cooled, we'll call you to let you know your piece is ready.
We encourage everyone to paint their own piece, since it will be your own personal creation. We have a variety of tools to help, including stamps, stencils, silkscreen, sponges, toothpicks, tape, and more!
We do sell some of our display pieces, and some of our employees are willing to personally take commissions on a case by case basis.
No. We currently have practice wheels for employee training only. When training is complete and all the logistics worked out, we will begin offering a limited number of pottery wheel spaces.
Unlike acrylic, Glaze & Fire pieces will need to be left at the store and picked up at a later date.
Once fired, they are food safe!
